According to EarthSafe and ConVault, Inc., public purchases on the GSA have dramatically increased this year.

The good/bad news indicates that the UST deadline of December 22, 1998 is having a profound effect on government purchases to replace leaking USTs, but that several AST competitors have now become eligible to participate in the GSA schedule. This means that purchasing agents who are only recently turning to the GSA may not recognize the historical performance of our ConVault ASTs.

ConVault, Inc. recommends that the sales force must not simply refer government purchases to GSA and assume a purchase will be made. The need to reinforce the technology, confirm regulatory requirements, and carefully explain the fact that ConVault ASTs have NEVER experienced a failure, is more important than ever to prevent competitor misrepresentation in the marketplace.
